Well in this case I think it's because of the old kernel being used (2.6.26); according to the earlier discussion regarding upgrading udev they won't work together. By the sounds of things 2.6.3x is getting closer on Zaurus devices but it's not quite there yet, so until then I would think we need to be using udev 141 (or 124?) on these machines.
