Oh, I do need to specify. *$.compare* is a simple function.
(function ($) {
$.compare = function (d, t) {
return $(d)[0] === $(t)[0];
};
})(jQuery);
It is only used here to determine if the widget is loaded before I try to
attach new functionality to it.
