Hi Eric,

This is clearly an omission in the CSS animation stuff. One should be able 
to animate to `height:auto;`. Because they couldn't figure out how to 
implement this, we are stuck solving this issue ourselves. Are you aware 
that you can animate the `max-height`. If your results are within an 
reasonable margin, this might be just your escape. 
Another solution comes from the greenSock <http://greensock.com/>, and is 
demonstarted in this pen <http://codepen.io/MAW/pen/NPqVMb>. I believe 
there still is support for greensock in angualr-animate, so that might be 
your way out.
