SkullSpace! Tonight is once again that very special time of the week in which we gather and discuss our dark hacker secrets. Secrets like "How do they make popcorn taste that good?" and "What the heck is a Gnu anyways?"
Whatever it is, I bet it tastes good with gravy. *Upcoming Events (2 Week Scope)* All of these events are on the SkullSpace Calendar. Check it out for more details! *Wednesday June 18th - WinnipegJS User Group Meeting* SkullSpace is happy to be the venue for the WinnipegJS User Group's six meetup: "Microsoft <3 JavaScript" & "Introduction to Angular and Breeze". They'll be using our classroom starting at 5:30 and I strongly encourage the JavaScript lovers amongst us to check them out. Please RSVP first via their eventbrite <http://www.eventbrite.com/e/sixth-meetup-microsoft-3-javascript-intro-to-angular-and-breeze-tickets-11818823419> page. JavaScript: it's cooler than you'd think. Really, I swear. You might be surprised! *Wednesday June 18th - CircuitSpace Mach 7* A night about circuits and electricity! Break out the soldering irons, re-flow ovens, and chemical etchant. You might even learn some stuff. *Thursday June 19th - WPCUG Meeting* SkullSpace will be the venue for the Winnipeg PC User Group's next general meeting! A man named Paul will be discussing tech concerns while travelling. Details can be found at WPCUG's website <http://www.wpcug.ca/>. *Saturday June 21st - Music Hackathon* Remember when we had monthly hackathons that were awesome and worth spending a Saturday at? Well, they are back! We're kicking things off with a Music themed Hackaton! Bring your tube amps, guitar pedals, theremins, homebrew synths, drum machines, etc. We're going to hack and make some noise! Seriously, please bring your theremin. I've always wanted to play with one of those. *Sunday June 22th - CDC Kick Off Meeting* Kicking off planning for the 2015 Cyber Defence Challenge! Anybody interested in a team leadership role in CDC 2015 is welcome to attend. *New Stuff* @MisterPhich <https://twitter.com/MisterPhisch> used our printer to create an awesome glow in the dark iPad holder <https://twitter.com/MisterPhisch/status/477860746408128512>. That right, we can print stuff that glows. Bask in the glow. There has been some great Skullotron v2 planning going in in the discuss mailing list over the past week. If you're interested in helping out with the compact arcade cabinet project, check out the mailing list archives here: http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.org.hackerspaces.skullspace.general/13494 The Izolyatsia makerspace in Donetsk, Ukraine has been seized <http://boingboing.net/2014/06/11/armed-masked-russian-separati.html> by armed russian separatists! They claim it was an "American-funded anti-Russian organization which supports fascism and develops decadent kind of arts". Thankfully, it's obvious to all of us that SkullSpace is not secretly funded by any sort of international superpower - we're just happy that we can barely afford working air conditioning. *Meeting Agenda* Speaking of barely affording things, we're going to include another financial update in tonight's meeting. *Membership Meeting Agenda* 6pm, June 17th, 2014 2nd Floor - 374 Donald Street 1.
