The Libertarian Party of Virginia will hold its 2016 State Convention on Saturday, Mar. 5, at the Hilton Garden Inn Richmond Airport, located just off I-64 near the Richmond International Airport. Agenda includes consideration of any proposed amendments to the LPVA constitution, elect party officers and delegates to the 2016 LP national convention, and consider resolutions. All LPVA members may attend the business session free of charge. Nonmembers may observe the Business Session for a fee of $10; in addition, nonmember attendance is with the consent of the members. - Lunch: A buffet lunch will be available from 11:30 a.m. 1:30 p.m. - Afternoon Sessions: Afternoon events will include a forum for candidates seeking the LP presidential and vice presidential nomination, as well as a panel discussion about "lessons learned" by some of our 2015 candidates. ------------------------ PRICING ------------------------ AFTERNOON SESSION PACKAGES: FULL PACKAGE - A full package (all convention activities, including lunch) will cost $65.00 if purchased on/before Feb. 19 ($75.00 if purchased after Feb.19). BASIC PACKAGE - A basic package (all convention activities except lunch) will cost $30.00 if purchased on/before Feb. 19 ($40.00 if purchased after Feb. 19). ------------------------ LODGING ------------------------ LODGING, HOST HOTEL: Guest rooms at the Garden Inn are available for $121.00 (single or double occupancy) per night, plus tax (13.3%). LODGING, HOTEL NEXT DOOR: Rooms at the adjacent Holiday Inn Richmond Airport (445 International Center Drive) are available for $89.00 (single or double occupancy) per night, plus tax (13.3%). These rates are available until Feb. 22; rooms can be reserved at this rate after Feb. 22 on an as-available basis. Isn't it time they gave up on those two other parties that keep dragging the nation down into the rat hole? <http://Join.LPVA.com/>http://Join.LPVA.com ------------------------ NONMEMBER NOTES ------------------------ PLEASE NOTE: Individuals who are not members of the LP may attend, under the following conditions: 1) Nonmembers may attend the business session only with the consent of the members and by contributing the standard $10 nonmember business session fee. Normally, all non-members who want to observe are asked to stand and identify themselves at the beginning of the meeting, and the members then decide for themselves whether those individuals may stay and observe. I've sponsored the motion to allow the nonmembers to observe for many of the conventions in the past two decades, and we have always approved them all -- but keep in mind that the members make the decision. A nonmember who is not approved to observe will have his $10 refunded.
