Folks, we're still on for tonight's ACFUG, with two talks. However, we have had a sudden emergency for one of our speakers tonight, Eric Jones, whose father-in-law has had emergency surgery and he and his wife have gone to Arkansas to be with the family. He called me this afternoon from there with a report that so far all is well, and I expressed that our thoughts and prayers are with them.

The board has discussed alternative arrangements. Eric could not readily prepare someone in his company to speak, so we will postpone that talk for another time. John Mason was set to speak next month and offered to move his talk up, but that seems unfair to those who wouldn't get this word or couldn't come. We also feel it would put undue pressure on John to present so suddenly.

So as a replacement for his topic, we will instead view a recorded presentation on "Flex and Ajax: Better Together", recorded just two weeks ago. The presenter is James Ward, the technical evangelist for Flex. It's a very well-done presentation in which he both introduces Flex and Ajax, as well as compares and contrasts them, showing also examples that integrate both. Further, he shows the Flex-Ajax Bridge, which is an free add-on for Flex enabling even tighter integration of the two.

This talk will follow our already-planned CFUnited Wrapup/Roundup, which will feature an open discussion among those who attended, including Josh Adams, Precia Albrecht, Teddy Payne, and Charlie Arehart, who will moderate.

If you plan to attend, please do RSVP (http://www.acfug.org/index.cfm?fa=rsvp.rsvpform) so that we can plan appropriately for pizza and drinks.
