You have a very valid argument here. This should be the proper way.
However, why then did we allowd implementations for all the main commercial
products, are they more worthy?
The real problem is, that given the crrent ANT1.x architecture, there is no way
for JOnAS to ship its own. What they build was not a task but a component
(i.e., a role implementation) for ANT's <ejbjar/> task. There is no way to use
it
without modifying <ejbjar/>.
This is why some of us keep arguing that we need ANT libs in 1.x.
