My compile problems are actually missing org.apache.commons.logging.Log
Seems like this should either be one of the "optional tasks" or included
in the lib dir.

I was unable to run the test from the command line (Missing the
org.apache.tools.ant.listener.CommonsLoggingListener) I will keep trying.
But the SQLExecTest runs fine from my ide (eclipse M5) now.
