The build.sh discovers that things havn't been bootstrapped and runs a bootstrap before running the main build. Another useful thing is that the build.sh script seems to decide if ant has been bootstraped by the existance of bootstrap/bin/ant. So if I need to be sure that something built in the bootstrap gets recompiled I just blow away bootstrap/bin/ant and it re-bootstraps automatically.
