I've made some simple changes to the input XML and the templates to see what
could be achieved

is now down to 1 error (no ALT in <IMG>) - no too bad!

I cheated in some respects by replacing &amp; with &amp;amp;  - accounts for the
XML parsing step. It would be better if Velocity could escape those entities
when writing out HTML.

I'll get to ant.apache.org sooner or later.
