The operation outside this former Soviet republic's port of Poti was overseen by Georgian Defense Minister David Tevzadze and led by U.S. Navy SEAL instructors, said Defense Ministry spokesman Zurab Andzhaparidze. Poti last year played host to 11-nation military exercises under NATO's Partnership for Peace program.
