Every year the arrogance of the elite grows, their oppression increases. The examples are too numerous to list fully here but the recent ones are truly egregious and must be mentioned: the murder of Carlo Giuliani in Genoa by the police, the bombing of Yugoslavia by the ultra-violent NATO, the wall in Qu�bec City which was in direct violation of Canada's Constitution. We are so habituated to violence that most people don't realize the gravity of the situation. Those of us that do can only be appalled at these vicious deeds. I am honoured to be a board member of the Defence of Canadian Liberty Committee. We have taken the federal government to court over the MAI, the Nanoose Bay expropriation, and the Qu�bec wall. All three of these lawsuits are efforts to get the Canadian government to obey the law. Unfortunately, the federal government has no intention of obeying the law and our attempts clearly expose this fact. Our MAI lawsuit went all the way to the Supreme Court, who deigned not to hear our case, no reason given. One of our lawyers, Rocco Galatti, says that Canada's judicial system is in a pre-feudal state, pre-Magna Carta. In other words, we may have a judicial system but there is no justice, and certainly there is no rule of law for our treasonous government. Meanwhile, Canada is being systematically given away to the rogue state on our southern border. Under the guise of "free trade", a misnomer if ever there was one, the world's premier trade bully is tightening its grip on our country courtesy of our senior "public servants". The U.S. elite already consider Canada to be theirs and they act accordingly. Our Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade is colluding by going through the motions of the FTAA negotiations, and by participating with the undemocratic WTO and lying to the Federation of Canadian Municipalities about the true nature of the General Agreement on Trade in Services after the FCM passed a resolution demanding the exclusion of municipalities from the GATS. More treachery is evident in the debate over whether or not Canada should adopt the U.S. dollar. No less a personage than the governor of the Bank of Canada, David Dodge, has mused about the possible "benefits". People who support this idea are simply traitors, knowingly or not. Only sovereign countries issue their own currency. Doing away with our loonie will be the final nail in Canada's coffin. The debate over this issue is a sham as Canada's elite have already knuckled under and the corporate media are cleverly preparing us for the eventuality. The people who are empowered to control Canada's money, David Dodge and finance minister Paul Martin, continue to give that power to private interests. Over 95% of our money is created by the private banks, to whom it must be repaid with its tribute of interest. Of course, our society labours under the erroneous assumption that the banks lend their depositors' money and the banks foster this delusion. We believe that we are borrowing someone else's "hard-earned money". As is easily demonstrable and as the record clearly shows, the money being loaned by banks has no existence prior to the loan being made. This is unearned money, brand new money, and therefore, why is it issued as a loan? It should be spent into existence, thereby forming a permanent and stable money supply. But it is issued with a background of debt, and worse still, it has interest attached which only serves to increase the debt without any corresponding increase in the money supply. The arbitrarily imposed requirement of repayment, which is perhaps fine for earned money, for unearned money has no possible moral justification, is intellectually abhorrent, and imposes a condition of slavery on the entire human race, except of course on the money creators themselves. The banking system is institutionalized fraud. It is the ultimate source of elite power. It is also the irrefutable proof that the elite are despots. We are living our lives essentially as slaves to their insane economic system, a system that manufactures and guarantees poverty and hunger, degrades the environment, and makes a mockery of the words "justice and democracy". Under this system, all talk of peace and goodwill and compassion and brotherly love is meaningless. We are all being subjected to relentless dictates and tyrannical demands that have no consideration for the ideals of human being. We must come to terms with the naked truth: the elite don't give a tinker's damn about you or me. The state of our world is the evidence. Indeed, though we humans are always striving to improve our world by bettering our own lives and by helping others, the elite refuse to allow the peaceful evolution of the human spirit to proceed. Rather than equitably distribute this planet's fabulous wealth to alleviate the suffering of the poor, the elite prefer to bomb Yugoslavia, wage proxy war in Colombia, destabilize black communities in the U.S. with drugsprovided by the CIA so that they can pick up the real estate for pennies on the dollar and send a steady supply of slave workers to the prison system, build a space station, crush any attempts at alternative energy development, manipulate the "free" markets with esoteric financial derivatives, manage public perceptions via the corporate media, and on and on. Apparently the elite are a lower life form, a lethal pestilence whose system and agenda must be eradicated before we are free to pursue the glory we know we are capable of. Anyone who understands the banking system must become radicalized. It is of no use to have the information and to sit on it. In every way, in online discussions and at the kitchen table, we must break through the absurd indoctrination that inhabits people's minds and tell them the simple facts and the awful truth. At every turn we must reject the empty rhetoric and insipid platitudes of the globalizers, who have repeatedly proven they are liars. The point should become easier to make as the stock markets continue their decline and people realize they will not be able to recoup their "investment". Once again, the greatest marketing slogan of all time, "buy and hold", has fleeced the sheep and transfered billions into the pockets of the elite. Perhaps this will be the slap in the face that will wake people from their complacent torpor. One of the most ominous developments is the biometrics technology which recognizes human body parts. The Americans have begun fingerprinting their children, who are scanned before they receive their lunch at school. We are being conditioned to give up our privacy and independence in return for the "safety" of biometrics. There is no doubt, given the malevolence of the elite, about the Orwellian purpose of this technology. Thankfully, there are hopeful signs. The twenty-first century is off to a good start as people revolt against the elite's revolting economic system. The elite have tipped their hand with their brutal response. The protests are occurring because you can't fool all the people all the time. The vast majority of the protestors are peaceful, good people who are tired of being lied to. They represent a growing recognition that persistent poverty is sim ply obscene on this fabulously wealthy planet. Let us all participate in putting an end to this insane situation. The time for non-violent revolution is now.
