Visit our website: HTTP://WWW.STOPNATO.ORG.UK --------------------------------------------- Now the dust has settled in downtown New York City and Washington DC, the blindness of sheer horror is dispelled by a cold realization that we are being asked to believe that a previously unimaginable catalogue of mistakes enabled a procession of hijacked airliners to take off from major civilian airports and make their way, by inexplicably wide detour across internal US airspace - unhindered and unchallenged - toward targets of monumental national and international significance, over an hour distant. What's more, we are also expected to believe - as we might in a James Bond movie - that no less than three lethal strikes carried to their intendedly devastating if suicidal conclusion with a military precision NATO itself would be hard put to emulate, were the evil work of one man and his laptop - (or was it a fax machine...?) - fanatically co-ordinating a world-wide network of super-efficient techno-bandits from deep within the dusty confines of a remote, crumbling "Stone-Age" cave, somewhere in the desolate boulder-strewn badlands of Afghanistan... Now I know that we mere unempowered mortals may sometimes feel almost welcomingly reassured to suppose that even the CIA's steely eyed vigilance and cold sophistication can, once in a while, fall prey to the perplexities of human error, or be duped by yet subtler minds into doltish confusion, just like the rest of us... but I, for one, in this case, don't buy it. Nor, frankly, is it at all conceivable that the USA's incomparably highly resourced, highly paid and highly intelligent "Intelligence" services and White House advisers were as unaware as American citizens notoriously are of the seething anger and hostility generated in quarters too numerous to mention across the globe, by scores of US foreign policy injustices... or, the soaring potential danger of terrorist attack in reply. In other words, it is certain the CIA knew such an attack was at least on the cards... For reasons which - if by no means excusable - were certainly far from inexplicable. But, since no one could be sure when, or even if, "Mohammed" himself would ever go to the USA mountain - maybe it could be visited by others adopting his disguise... It is likely, therefore, that the CIA - possibly in covert collaboration with other "interested" parties... (I say no more!) - were in on a scheme to hasten plausible fulfilment of some such horrendous scenario as we witnessed on Tuesday Sep 11th. One absolutely guaranteed to raise American public hackles to fever pitch. And thus not merely to tolerate or simply back a new and prospectively lucrative major war, in appropriately distant parts - but, this time, positively gagging for it...!!! It's only what CIA and/or NATO operatives might call, creating a "License to Kill"...
