Barry, I was thinking specifically of Lenin's famous retort in 1917 to the
claim that there was no party in the Constituent Assembly prepared to assume
power ("There is!"). But, all that aside, if we wait until conditions mimic
those of war-torn Russia some ninety years ago, we will never have
socialism there, much less here in the U.S.
But, you're point is well taken.
