U.S. Ready for Talk With DPRK: White

WASHINGTON, April 3 (Xinhuanet) -- The Bush
administration on
Wednesday welcomed a proposal to resume peace talks
with the
United States by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea
(DPRK)
and said it is ready for dialogue with DPRK "anytime,
anywhere."
"Our position has always been and will continue
to be that we
welcome dialogue with North Korea anytime, anywhere,"
White House
spokesman Ari Fleischer told reporters.
But the spokesman rejected the condition that DPRK set for the
peace
talks: the United States should cease its "groundless
slanders"
against DPRK.
In his State of Union Address on January 29,
U.S. President
George W. Bush described Iraq, Iran and DPRK as
an "axis of evil,
" the term has been widely criticized across the
