Xinhuanet 2002-04-30 11:10:03 TIRANA, April 29 (Xinhuanet) -- Albanian armed forces on Monday concluded a complex military exercise in the eastern town of Pogradec codenamed "Drilon 2002," which aimed at securing the border and preventing terrorist attacks. The exercise, the biggest complex military exercise this year, was conducted on April 21-28 with the participation of 870 soldiers. The exercise was supported by two MiG-19 aircraft, two MI-4 helicopters and the assistance of the navy. Albanian Prime Minister Pandeli Majko, Defense Minister Luan Rama and Minister of Public Order Stefan Cipa also attended the exercise. Speaking at the closing ceremony, Majko said the Albanian armed forces are able to be integrated into NATO structures and take rapid actions to defend the country.
