So do you obsolete the a3 script?

It will be a different jar name and the a3 script is just a local
development convenience of course.

What we need is someone take on the task of producing yum and RPM
packages and so on for all the distros. Then we can create an a3 command
and rely on it. Some people have created such packages in the past and
now Linux is full of old versions of ANTLR that are not quite together.

I know of the OpenSUSE build system, which automates the RPM building. I
believe more than one distro uses it.

We also have:

mvn rpm:build (or something like that) but I have not looked in to it yet. But RPM is one thing, yum distribution is another and so on. Though you can load say yum on Mandriva, poeple don't want to do such things. Oh for one central dsitribution for these things..

Mandriva - urpmi
Redhat - yum
Debian - apt-get ?

etc
