Indeed. In fact I have never exported a whole disk device itself. I
only ever export logical volumes. One of the great strengths of AoE
(and SAN in general) is the ability virtualize the storage and be able
to export an appropriate sized volume (often just a small slice of
disk, often many disks RAIDed together, rarely exactly one disk) to
the initiator.
