Way back in about the 1994-95 timeframe when AolServer was the NaviServer with the OORDBMS was Illustra there was a feature in the OODDRMS to write what was called "blades". These blades were meant for specific OO fetching or writing and made certain special tasks must easier as you could invoke a certain blade via NaviServer. Blades that were available from Illustra were, for example, manipulating medical images (X-Ray etc) or allowing for multiple images to be associated to a parent record like a time sequencer for capturing a persons medical record from start to finish. I think Illustra had 5 or 10 or so stock blades that came with the package.
Are the "blades" still being used for the OO side of AolServer? -Phil -- AOLserver - http://www.aolserver.com/ To Remove yourself from this list, simply send an email to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> with the body of "SIGNOFF AOLSERVER" in the email message.
