I don't know of anyone who is still using Illustra today, but these
sound like your typical stored procedures (and possibly executed via
triggers).

I don't think many folks are using OORDBMS'es today, are they?  Folks in
the Java world use frameworks like Hibernate to make marshalling of OO
data to and from RDBMS's easier, but I'm not familiar with any really
popular OORDBMS in widespread use today.

However, stored procedures and triggers are quite popular and (IMHO)
overused in many RDBMS'es that have them available as features, yes.
