I tend to have an obsession with historical stuff of late, and it
concerns me that so many open source projects have no sense of history.
We have a brief historical blurb that says when we started, but not much
more. I would like to have a historical document that lists all
releases, what the changes were in each release, some of the important
historical events along the way (conferences, corporate involvement,
etc) and some of the personalities involved.

Does anyone else think that this is a good idea? I'll be working on an
abridged form of this for ApacheCon anyway, so if anyone like the
notion, I'd like to open some discussion of including this in the
documentation.

By the way, I think that a lot of this could fill in some of the gap
left by the background section that appears to be going away from the
FAQ. Stuff like what is Apache all about, how it came to be, and that
sort of thing.
