Ok, many may have seen my post a few weeks ago about a server upgrade I had going on.
Well, the process continues. Current Machine = P3 RedHat 7.2 IDE drive system New Machine = P3 (dual) No OS SCSI drive system (raid 5) OK, so here is the plan, I don't know exactly what is going on here so any help is welcome. I have been able to make a backup of my Webserver. I have also been able to restore it to a temporary server for testing. I have run through the upgrade a few time of RH 7.2 to Fedora. Well, it seems to be a little messy. The upgrade works just fine, but there are all of these left-overs from RH7.2 which I am not really pleased with. What I was looking at is possibly installing CentOS 4 onto my new Dual P3 box. I was then planning on moving the Web information over from the old box. My QUESTION IS THIS.... What do I need to move and what do I not need to move to make this work. the last upgrade we did, took the Webmaster and I three days to reset all the usernames/passwords on all of the webs we have hanging off our server. Can I move the Web directory and then say the frontpage folder? Then when I do my upgrade on the NEW server all the information should be there for FP to allow those users to jump right in like nothing has happened? Anyone with an idea, I am getting needy here. I know there will be some other parts I have to reset, but I really need to get this box moved over and off 7.2 Heath Henderson Assistant Technology Administrator McLean County Unit 5 Schools Normal, IL 61761 "Computers, sometimes they work, sometimes they don't!" _______________________________________________ Apache-FP mailing list Apache-FP@lists.joshie.com http://lists.joshie.com/mailman/listinfo/apache-fp Donations: http://www.amazon.com/paypage/PT5LZITM9L227
