To follow-up Anthony's comments, I have been in regular communication with him over the last couple of years. The new server looks very exciting, and the new platform should still run existing code, although the new server will have easier to use APIs.
My company is using APE extensively, and we hope to start making more contributions to it this summer. We are the authors of the GPSEE platform, http://code.google.com/p/gpsee. We use GPSEE in concert with APE, they make a very good pairing as they both use Mozilla's SpiderMonkey engine. Are there experienced APE users out there who are interested in adding content to the wiki, maintaining it (user accounts), etc? I think that increasing end-user involvement is a good way to help this product while Anthony is off doing other things -- he's gotta eat, too! I bet we could talk him into giving us a locked, access-controlled wiki if we had a couple of dedicated community stewards who were willing to hold the reins for a while.
