GoDaddy does support this, but only in the A records not in the CNAME 
records.

So add *.ape <http://ape.me.com> to the A records with the correct IP 
address and it works.  Using the A record that would equal *.ape.me.com.   
after translation.

I have this working like a champ with GoDaddy.
