I should add, that I am actually familiar with *nix environments,
networking, sockets, IP etc, having worked primary on Solaris for over
30 years, as well as Windows (20 years), but I'm not that familiar with
the idiosyncracies of various linux flavours or linux environments.
So building and fixing C/C++ is not an issue for me, but I could use
some Ubuntu support from someone in this group.
