I cant' think of anything now. But I suggest you lean up to existing (json)
formats and check for ideas there.
For example, did you have a look at the Apertium Web service?

Also, when you can, please be present on the IRC for discussions.

Also, I'm not clear on how much you've actually 'played around' with
Apertium for general understanding, did you try to modify and compile  some
pairs (using the C++ version) ?
