The prefix is only really used for when you don't have root access to
the machine you're installing on, or when you want to keep your apertium
installation separate so it can easily be removed/upgraded. 

I use it frequently, many people don't. The key thing to remember is, if
you've used a prefix for one program to do with Apertium, use it for all
of them.

Find out where the command "lt-proc" is installed. e.g., try "locate
lt-proc" and find the bin/ directory. Copy all the CG binaries to that
path. i.e. cg-comp, cg-proc, vislcg3, cg-conv.
