It's also in English and Icelandic: 

If I _were_ you, ...
Were I you, ...
If it were true, ... 
Were it true, ...

And I also like it. One hint for how to proceed would be to google for
"Danish subjunctive", I'm sure you will be able to find a description.
I'm afraid I cannot google for you at the moment as my internet
connection is very poor and doesn't let me do much more than email.

The appropriate tag will be <pis> for the subjunctive forms.
