Hi,

I'm Gabriel Esteban, one of the students of GCI of this year. The other
day, I downloaded the apertium app on my phone, and I see a lot of things
that can be improved (Also I download the apertium app from the svn) In the
following lines I will put forward all the things that I think that can be
improved.

   - The translations of the app. The app is only translated to english and
french, I propose to create some task for translating the app to other
language. It's easy, you only need to translate by hand one xml. If you
want, I can carry with the task of getting all the files created by others
students and uploading to the svn.
   - Design. I propose to create a task that asks for implementing
ActionBarSherlock, thats it's a library that allow to include ActionBar on
devices upper android 2.2. (I don't know what licenses uses
ActionBarSherlock, it can be another task).
   - Now, the ActionBar is white, I think that it don't fit with the other
   things.
   - When you first enter to the app, all the info is in one of the
edittexts, very unuseful. I propose to create a task that will ask create a
dialog to include all this information, that it can be showed in more than
   one views.
   - When you go to about, you can move the view, I think that is a
webview, it would be nice to add some code that resize the data. It's all
   about the properties, I think.
   - When you focuse on the second edittext, the view is moved.
   - Instant translation, also easy, you only need to include a
textwatcher, and when the text changes you do the translation, maybe it can
be asked to do the translation when a new word is added. This can be an
option, so, it would have to include an option on the settings.
   - Another thing are the icons, why the disk is for translations when its
always used to save things. And about the wrench, normally on android is
   used a gear.

I think that's all. All these things can be finished in less than two hours
if you are an experienced developer.

My nick on the channel is galaxyfeeder, we can talk by that way.

Gabriel
