I can use the language pair fr-es with this command :
~/apertium/apertium-fr-es $ echo "J'ai deux frères" | apertium fr-es
Tengo dos hermanos
But not with this command :
~/apertium/apertium-en-es $ echo "J'ai deux frères" | apertium -d
~/apertium/apertium-fr-es/ fr-es
Error: Mode fr-es does not exist. Try one of:
es-fr-anmor
es-fr-biltrans
es-fr-chunker
es-fr-generador
es-fr-interchunk
es-fr-postchunk
es-fr-pretransfer
es-fr-tagger

I downloaded the language pair from svn and ran the installation commands
PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/usr/local/lib/pkgconfig ; ./autogen.sh + make + sudo make
install) . Everything seemed to go fine (no error message).
To compile apertium, I followed the procedure described at
http://wiki.apertium.org/wiki/Become_a_language_pair_developer_for_Apertium#Changing_Things_Around.
Everything went fine.
