As regards Signum, let me be more specific and clear:
If Signum contains modified Apertium software licensed under the GPL,
Ismael has to *immediately take it down**from the App Store* and stop
distributing it *unless**it is specifically marketed as free/open-source
software and a way to download any modified Apertium sources is clearly
provided*. If this is not the case, I, as interim president of the
Apertium Project Management Committee (PMC), will ask the PMC to
initiate actions against Ismael for what would be a clear license
violation, starting by reporting the situation to Google Play.
Assuming that Ismael has acted in good faith, I will *allow one week*
for correcting actions before I do anything.

Quick comment 1: All of Apertium is GPL (v2 or v3), therefore any
application has to offer the user a clear method to download *all* of
the source needed to rebuild it, together with a reasonable build
procedure.
Quick comment 2: GPL was a radical choice from the beginning of
Apertium, specifically because we did not want to allow
non-free/closed-source apps based on the Apertium engine. However, the
current licensing prevent anyone from building proprietary and
completely new language pair data and use the Apertium engine to run
it. Of course, this kind of language pair should not benefit from the
support of the Apertium community.
