Thanks for your proposal, Alex.

General comment is that you should structure your project around
substantive user-facing features rather than a collection of minor
improvements.

Also, if you're truly interested in porting the interface to a more modern
UI framework, that should happen way earlier, before you put tons of effort
into improving the UI's quality.

Assorted small comments:

This shouldn't take a whole week. By week 7 I would hope it's half a day of
work at most.

This also shouldn't take a whole week.

> Week 4: Go through Good First Issues and try to fix all of them
This is the shape of something to do during the pre-GSoC period, not during
it.

> Week 3: Try to add Romanian language for English
This definitely shouldn't take a week - translating to a language you're
fluent in should only be a couple of hours at the most.
