We have a saying here in the United States: "You can't fix stupid".
Recently, I received a spam from 101.100.238.168 which is being routed at present by AS58621, Vodien Internet Solutions Pte Ltd (Singapore). I did what I always do. I reported the spam to the formally registered contact email address for the relevant ASN. In this case that is <[email protected]>. I got back the response below, informing me that the network operators could neither accept nor apparently even look at my report because my email address is not registered as one of their customers. That is correct. I am NOT one of their customers. I was reporting spam that was SENT by one of their customers. Is APNIC instructing network operators in the APNIC region to use their formally registered abuse reporting addresses as some sorts of customer support email addresses? Oe are these particular network operators just blithering idiots who have failed to read and understand simple instructions? ============================================================================= Return-Path: <[email protected]> X-Original-To: [email protected] Delivered-To: [email protected] Received: from outbyoip5.pod19.use1.zdsys.com (outbyoip5.pod19.use1.zdsys.com [192.161.149.5]) by segfault.tristatelogic.com (Postfix) with ESMTP id 24D0F4E67 9 for <[email protected]>; Fri, 15 Nov 2019 20:17:49 -0800 (PST) Received: from zendesk.com (unknown [10.219.27.109]) by outbyoip5.pod19.use1.zdsys.com (Postfix) with ESMTP id 46E3A 800087 for <[email protected]>; Sat, 16 Nov 2019 04:17:48 +0000 (UTC) Date: Sat, 16 Nov 2019 04:17:48 +0000 From: Dreamscape Networks <[email protected]> Reply-To: Dreamscape Networks <[email protected]> Cc: Spamreports <[email protected]> Message-ID: <[email protected]> In-Reply-To: <[email protected]> References: <[email protected]> <[email protected]> Subject: Update: #16568883 Spam from your network (AS58621): [101.100.238.168] Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/alternative; boundary="--==_mimepart_5dcf786c3b293_334d3faa856bcf1496223"; charset=utf-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Delivery-Context: event-id-931329220353 Auto-Submitted: auto-generated X-Auto-Response-Suppress: All X-Mailer: Zendesk Mailer X-Zendesk-From-Account-Id: a17f9c4 X-Zendesk-Message-Id: <WVDX8L6DK8_5dcf786cb974_334d3faa856bcf149616a_sprut@zen desk.com> [ part 1 - text/html - 3.1KB ] - Please type your reply above this line - You are registered as a CC on this support request.
