Dear APNIC Community and the respected APNIC EC and Electoral Committee

First of all, I would like to congratulate the 2025 elected APNIC EC
candidates: Mr. Yoshinobu Matsuzaki, Mr. Anlei Hu, Mr. Roopinder Singh
Perhar, and Chairman Kenny Huang.

I also want to express my appreciation for your long-term service and
contributions to APNIC.

However, I would like to raise an observation that I believe the community
should take seriously. In recent years, the EC positions have been held by
a limited number of candidates, some of whom have served for over 10 years.
This has led to a somewhat homogeneous mindset within the organization. It
may be time to introduce new perspectives to foster innovation and
creativity for the organization's improvement.

Looking back at the election history, it appears that winning candidates
tend to receive votes within a similar range, while newcomers often have
significantly lower vote counts. For instance, in this year's election, the
winners received between 2,700 and 3,000 votes.

I hope the EC election process can expand beyond a small circle and allow
for more new candidates to be elected, contributing their expertise to the
community instead of creating a monopoly akin to a hereditary system.

Lastly, I noticed that Mr. Kam Sze Yeung was elected last year with the
endorsement of NRS. This year, the candidates for the 2025 EC
Election—Chairman Kenny Huang, Mr. Roopinder Singh Perhar, Mr. Yoshinobu
Matsuzaki, and Mr. Anlei Hu—are also endorsed by NRS.

Could you please clarify the relationship between the EC and NRS? Is there
any control or influence from NRS over the EC?

It would be greatly appreciated if the APNIC EC or Electoral Committee
could address my concerns.

Thank you!
