to deal with these updates and possible problems in the future?
You may well already be aware of this, but a few years ago Cristel
Pelsser, Olaf Maennel, Pradosh Mohapatra, Randy Bush and Keyur Patel
published a paper for PAM 2011 on making damping usable again. There
are links to it, and a summary of it, in RIPE-580.
