Hey guys! I've just recently joined up for the mailing list, and wanted to share a few ideas for you, i think they're good anyways - So please be gentle;
I'm not trying to discredit your work, nor am i against it, or slanted away from it -I'm just giving ideas, please do not shout at me (Sorry - Freenode reflexes). Well, anyway - Here is my first idea; == Action-related configurations == I don't know what it is, but i find that looking all around a general menu for a setting for a specific purpose; Eg - Say i'm inserting a CD, and i have an audio application - And i want to find a setting related to what the program does when i insert it, like "rip to mp3", or something like that for example. Now, i've noticed particularly with websites and other things i tested it out on, links which relate closely to the person; Eg "What's in it for me?" are very easy for people to click into, because i think perhaps it's like "Straight to the point" and also relates well to their "psychie".. Anyways - On to the main idea. The idea is that in configurations, i think it would be a good idea to have a particular in config / option files to have a dialog like this; "What should %APPNAME% do when %X%" (%X% being whatever action it is the program will do) I know it sounds kind of wierd - I'm working on making a sort of mock-up of what i mean, because i think it would look a lot better like that.. But at the moment, yeah - kind of a weak point (Please don't shout :/) anyways.. On to the second point; == More SVG Interaction == Well, i absolutely love SVG's, and i think it's great that they can be resized to any width or height, and look smooth as a baby's bottom :D, but i think that even the kicker gradients should be made in SVG, and be able to be resized "on the fly", because the current is PNG, and if someone's on a huge resolution, and wants to resize the kicker, the gradient will obviously get pixelated, right? So, if all the Icons, kicker, and everything, even the buttons, were made in SVG's, or made so they could be vectors, or scalable graphics so that they are all smooth as silk, plus - with the new X11 features coming up (which im so excited about, but not as much as Appeal ;)), then i think that KDE would look AWESOME, particularly with the new effects i've seen from the Appeal Developers, then the KDE future is just looking so Bright, my eyes are hurting already! :D Thanks, please be gentle! -- _______________________________________________ Get your own MyMelody email @ www.sanriotown.com _______________________________________________ Appeal mailing list [email protected] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/appeal
