John, Thank you for taking a minute to write us about this. From what you are describing, it sounds like it's behaving as designed. When you mark a recurring task as completed, it will record one task as a completed task and also reschedule one again based on your recurrence rule. Did you see different behavior than this previously?
Also, you may want to check your "Completed Tasks ON/OFF" setting and also your "Show (Completed Tasks)" setting in Todo -> Settings -> General. By default, completed tasks will continue to be shown for one week.
