Wow, I'm glad I haven't tried to switch to iCal syncing, as much as I've wanted to. This sounds like going back to the old nightmare days of syncing my Treo - crossing my fingers and praying my data wouldn't be hosed!
In a syncing situation there's nothing worse than having to be extra careful not to edit data the wrong way. At the very least, the Todo developers shouldn't have released this feature without explicit instructions for safeguarding our important data.
