Well, yes and no. It's all about the user experience. With the
Calendar app, if I touch May 1, the app scrolls to show May but I can
immediately touch the + sign to start entering an event. I don't have
to touch May 1 again. The point is that when you touch a date, you
should be registering that date as the current working date. I
shouldn't have to touch it again. Otherwise it's confusing to the
user.

Just my opinion of course.
