Hi all,
I'm a GTD guy. I'm very happy to see appigo's todo's latest
version coming up with projects and other wonderful features which is
not available in any other applications. Surely it rocks.
But there are some features which might need some quick fix. Worth
doing it.
Firstly, I saw that the search feature works wonderfully showing
project with badges indicating the number of tasks for the search
string. But why don't this logic applies when you select a context or
tag. Apparently i selected the context "Call" and a project had a
badge 10, but when I went in I saw I had only one task which reminds
me to call someone. Why not show the number badge with the number of
tasks for the particular context. Same applies to Tags.
Secondly, the Focus list. I'm a guy who use GTD methodology (these
suggestions applies to any methodology). I have in total some 500
tasks of different types, many of them someday/maybe types, with all
ranges of priorities and due dates. Though I have many projects and
tasks under my different lists, when it comes to focussed list, it
should not again show the projects in it. It add tons of frustation
when I see my focussed list and though my projects have only some
tasks (I have done my homework of collect, analyse, process and
scheduling processes effectively). And when I go into the projects, I
see the other tasks which I never wanted to see, just adds to my open
loops!!! It allows me to go into a infinite horizontal mgmt and its a
pain to manage my task vertically over all my projects.
Simply, having done the GTD or prioritization processes, the
focussed list should just show the tasks (the color codes of list
helps a lot here to differentiate btwin personal and work related
tasks, good work!). The best best way I suggest would be display the
tasks like this - ProjectNamex/Tasky. Read p and w below as color
bullets for Personal and Work lists.
Not sure how other feel about this. Come on guys, can't be
better. If not like below, Todo 1.x is better than Todo 2.0, the
latter clutters my focussed list (NextActions & CalendaredActions)
with NextActionProjects :-((

Third suggestion, the application is dead slow in my iphone.
But it was working fine with less number of tasks. Do you guys suggest
whether ur appln has some limitations as to how many tasks it can
handle. I have on an average of 500 tasks which keep growing in and
out. Too slow guys, plz fix it up.
Lastly, any work around for working on a set of tasks/projects
like rescheduling to another day, moving some tasks to another
project, moving some project to another lists, applying a single
context/tag to a set of tasks. Worth giving a thought, say, we have
planned some 30 tasks daily, I believe nobody would have them
complete, there shud be at least some 10 out of the 30 that might end
up postponed and you would want to reschedule them on a bulk. Any
advice??
Waiting for iPhone OS 3.0, which will allow our Todo to access
the alerts and calendars thru APIs. Can't wait for it. But overall,
thanks guys, its still a wonderful appln, make my life very easy.
Would appreciate more comments on the above suggestions from
other fellow brothers.
Affly Aamy :-)))
