I would like to add my vote for start dates also. I find it very handy to be able to set a date when a task becomes available to work on - maybe it's based on someone else's due date, maybe it's the date of a movie release, etc. This is a very helpful ability to have when planning things out in the future - something that would probably need to be added is the ability to filter out things that are not yet "available" based on start date to keep lists clean and not have projects/tasks/lists showing items that cannot be worked on.
