Thanks for the response! I'm realize that it must be difficult to track down the source of such glitches. It's been a rare occurrence for me; in fact, it's only happened once. But it's good to hear you all are working on it--and that you're considering the possibility of your own desktop todo program.
I discovered some other reasons for wanting to use that instead of iCal. Besides the incredibly tiny and unusable font size, iCal shows completed items before today's date, even if one un-checks Show All Completed Tasks! That clutters up the list. There is also no equivalent of a Focus list, instead one gets a long laundry list of all of one's todos. I could go on, but I won't, as I'm sure you all are already aware of iCal's limits.
