My alerts are coming through just fine when I'm connected via wifi. If you weren't gettting any push notifications at all, when connected via Wifi or 3G, I would have suggested that you check the Settings in your iPhone to be sure you've enabled notifications. However, you have obviously done that, or you'd not be getting push alerts while on 3G. I can't think of anything that might help, sorry!
