A follow up on my own post, trying to trouble-shoot this. I made several more changes in my Todo list. Hit the sync button on the i-device, as I had done before. Again, no dice, no synching, no changes in iCal.
I then changed the due date on one task--and tried synching again. Worked fine. Don't know why, but it seems I have to try synching, then change an item, and then synch again before it works!
