Thanks for the information Appigo. However, my problems (which have been highlighted by other posts here as well) are when the phone and iCal sync tasks are lost or categories wiped out. This happens even if I only use the phone to enter and change tasks ignoring iCal completely between syncs. With so many tasks on my phone now I don't trust the sync because if tasks are lost I have no way of recovering them if it goes wrong.
