I agree, task status would be great.

If you implemented hierarchical tags as suggested at
http://groups.google.com/group/appigo-todo/browse_thread/thread/90e08c04f0e9524a/0794749835e8b5e6?lnk=gst&q=ilya239+hierarchical+tags#0794749835e8b5e6
then one could use part of the tag hierarchy for task status, and
still have other parts available to use as tags.
