When I went into my router I could see that the iPhone would show up in the device list of the router so the network was seeing the phone just fine. I also got the IP address for my laptop here as well. I looked in 'settings' on the iPhone and got the subnet number which is under the IP address I believe. Do you know where to find this on the iPhone?
I then went into the Network and Sharing Center on my laptop (This is what it's called in Windows Vista 64-bit...you may have a different name, but the gist of this should be the same). Then I opened 'Manage Network Connections". My wireless network came up and I right-clicked on it and then opened "Properties". I then highlighted "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and clicked the 'properties' button again. I then turned on "Use the following IP address". I put in the IP address for my laptop that I got from looking up the device list of my router (as mentioned above). I put in the subnet mask that I got from the iPhone. I put in the address for the 'default gateway' of 192.1268.1.1 which is the IP address of the router. Then below I put the same 192.168.1.1 in the "Use the following DNS server addresses" in the first line. I left the second line blank. This seemed to make the iPhone then show up in Appigo Sync. But then I'm having the problem after this where the iPhone shows up in Appigo Sync, but the status keeps showing 'pending' and then sometimes disappears. I have to tell you that I'm not really familiar with this kind of thing...I've just been trying different things that might make sense to get the subnet mask of the laptop and iPhone the same. So I'm no expert and for all I know I could be causing problems that I haven't come across yet. This just seems to be involved to get appigo sync to work. I would expect the production version would have to be much more user friendly...whenever that may be coming out. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of JHC Sent: Wednesday, January 13, 2010 4:44 PM To: Appigo Todo Subject: [appigo-todo] Re: Sync for windows How did you get the iPhone to show up?!?
