I am also having sync problems identical to the ones Matthew described. I went through the test that Appigo Support posted and it worked.
However, the problems seem to be with some list items that were created before I began syncing through ToodleDo. I've tried deleting the item on the ToodleDo website, through my iPad and through my iPhone. It keeps coming back and causing a Toodledo sync error. The sync is finished, but always with a note to check the diagnostics log. In the log, there is always a problem with the one item. Any advice appreciated!
