We've sold our U-pick apples by the bag for many years. It works for us.
We price our u-pick about 15-20% higher than in our market. We use plastic
drawstring 1/2 peck and peck bags. the higher price helps to cover the cost
of apples lost, eaten or stolen.

PYO apple picking? They are popular in many stores now and cost about
$1ea.
We have had plastic and paper bags rip and tear in the orchard. We
usually sell by the pound, but thought we could sell them a bag at a set
price, and let them fill it up .
