Wellwood Orchard, Springfield, Vermont is a well establish apple orchard with approximately 75 acres of fruit trees, berries and stone fruits. We have multiple varieties of apples beginning to harvest in late July through October. We grow the finest strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, cherries, peaches, plums and pears. In our retail store on site, open daily from June until November, we sell our own produce summer though fall, a variety of Vermont products, home baked goods, gift items and more. We have an excellent PYO business with loyal local customers and a tourist clientele. Our petting zoo, wagon rides, and annual Customer Appreciation Day provide our community with a safe, affordable, family friendly experience. We believe in value for our customers and their families.

We are looking for a FULL TIME trustworthy, working Field manager with mechanical ability, knowledge of crops, experience with pruning fruit trees, cultivating, spraying (pesticide usage), pest monitoring, irrigation, harvesting and more. The right person will take pride in quality produce, have a drive to learn and continue to grow with the business. We are willing to train, but some of the above knowledge/experience is required. Mentoring will be a constant until candidate is ready. This is a full time position that will be demanding of your time during harvest but rewarding just the same. The person we seek doesn’t mind working for a living. You will need to be committed to the orchard during harvest season (June/July thru October) for long hours, including most weekends and some overnights. After harvest, there will continue to be a work week available, with a flexible schedule for the right person. Compensation depends upon experience. Harvest bonus potential. Immediate opening
